Tanya has a degree in Physiology from the University of Aberdeen. Whilst conducting postgraduate work she became heavily involved in the pastoral care of students, undertaking a role as a Warden in a Hall of Residence. Her interest in people continued when she left science and gained a work permit in the USA to work within a social service support agency in Washington State. Here, she worked within an intensive tenant support home for severely mentally and physically disadvantaged adults who were quite violent, managing the staff and systems whilst supporting the clients.
Upon returning to the UK, Tanya worked for Focus, a regional charity, and ran their Leicester Branch. She facilitated several large projects running personal development programmes for socially excluded young people.
Tanya then joined the Prison Service, spending 13 years in total, spanning most operational grades, and reached Acting Deputy Governor in a large West Midlands. During these years, Tanya worked not only with managing large departments within the prison, but was also responsible for case management of complex prisoner cases relating to active suicidal intent and self-harm.
During her time in the prison service Tanya trained with Kath Temple as an NLP Master, and Level 2 EFT Practitioner. She also trained in Matrix Reimprinting. And as a Spectrum Coach.
Tanya works with clients to effect lasting solutions in many areas of their lives, including PTSD and trauma. She is also an accomplished Coach and works with people from all walks of life.
Outside of work, Tanya has a creative heart, loving to play with colour and texture to make artworks which she has exhibited and sold and which now grace walls and homes both nationally and internationally. She also never stops reading and learning, with a slight book addiction that may need some work in the future!
