Ben Tipney


Sports & Performance Coach


Ben’s background as an international athlete with the Great Britain Rowing Team and international coach with the South African Rowing Team, has given him a great understanding of how to get the best out of people.

Ben has been a coach and mentor for 10 years and has a passion for not only helping people recognise and achieve their potential, but more importantly, ensuring that when they do, they enjoy the achievement.

Ben has developed innovative, practical strategies to help clients better understand how the processes in mind and body interlink and interact. He uses powerfully effective, scientifically proven techniques, interwoven with facilitative coaching, and his experience from high level sport, to help clients achieve their goals.

Ben competed at several World Championships, and was 3 tmes National Champion Rower.

As well as being a Kath Temple graduate in NLP and EFT, Ben has a BA (Hons) in Leadership In Sport from Reading University, which specialises in Sports Psychology. He is also certified in Cognitive-Behavioural Coaching through Middlesex University, is a member of the Association for Coaching, Society of NLP, and AAMET.

Ben works as a High Performance Coach, and worked with South Africa’s Women’s Rowing Team, who won the Broze Medal at the 210 U23 World Championships. He has coached numerous athletes to national medals and also to national representation at world championships (GB and RSA).

Ben has also had 10 years education experience in schools and universities – including Oxford University – teaching, coaching, mentoring and pastoral work. This included two Directorial roles. He has extensive knowledge of physiology, exercise and nutrition, and how this relates to our state of mind, well-being, and cognitive functioning.
