A baby and its Mother are one combined system, not two. Whatever feelings are registering in Mother, baby is feeling those feelings too. The neuropeptides from our feelings travel to every one of the 50 trillion cells of the body in one hundredth of a second. Depending on how a Mother is feeling, some babies are being bathed in the stormy acidic waters of cortisol, whilst others are being bathed in the still, clear alkaline waters of serotonin and DHEA.
